-5 hours of wedding shoe shopping with 2 sisters and a cheeseburger break right in the middle?
-being bossed around by the mini bunny queen? (we've had a couple pretty serious sass-offs)
-still knowing most of les mis and taking on the sonatinas today?
-starting The Road but being a little nervous to really get into it?
-watching UP with the whole crew? (and all of us losing it in the first 5 minutes?)
-movie tickets on the fridge for mr. fantastic fox?
doing pretty good on my list, i'd say. and this is why i like making easy lists.

It's 55 degrees n sunny and now it feels like Christmas?
Here's to being home. Soft water, hard towels, girls-only shopping trips with Grandpa (smashing success!), baby maddy girl, delicious food, peace and quiet, bare feet, being taken care of, etc. It's weird to be all adults here and just doing whatever we want whenever we want. Can't wait to talk to Johnny tomorrow morning. Is it time to get my hair done if gramps even made a comment about my roots? I know, huh. Liz is so happy and so cute. Just really couldn't be more wholesome around here. Puzzles, sing-alongs, the works.
Here are some things I wanna do while I'm here:
-read a book
-bind the quilt I sewed last Christmas
-watch UP
-plan Liz's wedding
-H&M
-play the piano
-hang out with Jill

I think sometimes I forget how pretty it is here
(Mama-if you want that seasonal surge of excitement, just come spend like 3 hours in the lobby of the JSMB with me. We can watch the couple missionaries playing the piano and singing 'I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus' to all the bundled up kids passing through. I'm pretty sure that'd be enough for at least one year.)
Veronica Lake
Sometimes I'm too tired to even tuck my hair behind my ear and I just work like this all day. Or I'm too tired to take it off so I sleep in my coat all night. Or I'm too tired to go put my delicious homemade pot pie in the microwave so I just sit here and starve. It's been a long week, folks.

Going crazy for these monochromatic dishes at anthro. I can never decide if i love a million colors or barely there colors more. Obviously.
it's hard to look cute for a breakfast date

we'll prolly just never get sick of this song
I love how much Alicia loves him. And I guess now's a good time to say how glad I am her braids are gone. Hopefully forever.

thanks again, becca
Sometimes I wake up in the morning with the teeniest sneekiest suspicion that today maybe isn't going to be the best kinda day. When this happens, and the weather is permitting, I just put on this coat to wear (and don't take it off all day), and pretty much it doesn't matter what kinda day it's gonna be, cuz I've got this coat. Weird how that works. And maybe shallow. But why is that shallow? It's comforting and warm and makes me feel good. Nevermind. It's deep.
I wish I didn't want so many things just as much as you do, I promise
But when people make shears this pretty and put ribbon/twine/cord on wooden spools, me wanting it is pretty far outta my control.
I know, join the club
I can hardly stand how much I loved Fantastic Mr. Fox. I think every person should see it. Totally worth the scariest snowy drive home. My mind can't even think about how it was made. It's kind of all I want to look at or hear for probably 2.5 months or so. Which is almost as long as I could eat pizza for one meal a day without getting bored of it—3 months and 1 week—to put things in perspective.
Turns out being stranded 7 avenues up isn't the worst thing that could happen to a Sunday
Breakfast: waffles and ice cream
Lunch: chili
Dinner: hot chocolate and blueberry cobbler
It's just so Christmas around here!

Hey little block cutter tool, never do this to me again? It really hurts.
p.s. Most instacare centers close at 9pm on weekdays. And if you want/need stitches, don't wait till the next morning because then it's too late to get stitches and you just get an expensive bandaid and a good luck. Oh and a tetanus shot.

salt lake i love you but
I'd rather have plowed roads then cute free parking meters for Christmas. Cuz really? If it's been snowing since like 2am, and now it's 10am, the roads are gonna need some attention.

I'm trying to take it slow but it's hard
These are just some videos I found. And I'll probably post more on other days soon. Even though I am almost certain no one will enjoy them as much as I have been. Please don't yell at me.

Does it mean I'm an emotional shopper if I bought Dannon Light & Fit 60 calorie yogurt yesterday (even though it's nasty) just to pretend my parents still lived in the hotel down the street (where they serve this yogurt at breakfast) and that I'm going to go sunbathe by the pool at lunch like I used to?

oops
I saw New Moon last night. I feel like a hypocrite. I didn't hate it. It was very entertaining. And embarrassing. Jacob wins. Vampires dress cute. The music ruled. I still have no desire to read the books or see the first movie. So I'm only a half-blood traitor?

Steals of the Week Pt. 1
Urban was very kind to me the other day. Extra 50% off all home sale stuff AKA Happy Birthday Kate! I'll probably show you everything I got cuz I love them all. We'll start with the pretty, pretty calculator on my desk. Original price: $28. My price: $2.50. Do I need a calculator on my desk? No. Sometimes is the sole function of an item to make me happy when I look at it/push its buttons? Yes. Is it kind of a mean trick to stick a solar-powered calculator in this basement with me? Yes.

I don't know what to say about New York besides that I loved it and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I got back. I wanna go there worse now then I did before I ever went. So that's dangerous. Overall: there was perfect weather and perfect company and perfect surroundings. And now I'll show you a million pictures. (Big thank you, Heather, for taking a million pictures.) I guess I'll just go by day.
Day One:
Carrie, Eric and I are the only Blondes in this city.
I like eye contact way too much for this city.
Subways stopping and making us take a bus aren't cool.
Times Square is just a giant Vegas.
Not impressed (is anyone surprised?)
bryant park rules
carrie's dream of meeting john stamos—realized. (After we saw him perform in Bye Bye Birdie. He totally double-took her and also told her 'she's tall' and signed her program. The play was kinda just so-so.)
Day Two:
Learning how not to smile at people.
Not everywhere's as dirty as Times Square.
If I don't move to the Brooklyn Bridge, The High Line is my 2nd choice.
I'd like to spend about 3 weeks walking around Central Park/Museums.
My body hurts.
I'm completely sold on this place. (oh, so that changed? weird.)
Chelsea market
Just a building. There are tons of these there.
View from the High Line-I could stare at this for probably 9 days and not get bored.
Staten Island Ferry. Really great lighting for a group shot.
Envelopes in the MET!
Ancient temple in the MET!
Gossip Girls
Central Park
This guy
Central Park
Happy friends
Day Three:
Stone cold face wherever I went! Obviously I was a natural.
Cupcakes for breakfast. Pizza for lunch. Pizza for dinner.
Flirting with Letterman employees.
Ground zero.
Yes, I wore that obnoxious bow in my hair for some portion of every day.
Strand Bookstore-I adore you.
Schlepping to Brooklyn.
Best night.
We saw this. With Bill Murray
"So we're in Italy and this guy just turns around and starts yelling at us..."
Grimaldi's Pizza
Manhattan, from Brooklyn
Our long-legged tour guides and their city
Heather loves this one. (so do i)
Day Four:
I can't believe it's our last day.
I might cry when we leave.
Let's go to 5th Avenue.
Grand Central Station
We spent a lot of time down here
and on here (so what if my feet don't touch the ground)
our puke green hostel walls
And that's New York! There are like 900 more pictures where these came from. And that's literally. My list of places to go next time is growing rapidly. In fact, I will probably start sending my headshot around so i can be booking some gigs there pretty soon.
