Leatherby's in
Midvale, UT and the menu was in spanish. and they only served mexican food. and there were mini Christmas trees on the table. With a dusty rose and country blue plaid wallpaper on the walls. And traditional Leatherby's ice cream and sauces for sale. huh???

All the more reason for me to hate Leatherby's.
yeah, why did you go to leatherby's? it's sick.
why do i remember leatherby's as wonderful?
i don't know. but we're obviously pulling from the same warped memory. because i was really excited. maybe it was the thrill of having just finished the Book of Mormon as a family? Or the exciting ride all the way to Bakersfield in the big brown van?
It was the names, remember? Almost everyone in our family had an ice cream treat with his/her name in it. And everytime we would look through and find them all, as if it was a big mystery each time.
I think mine was a brownie sundae. Sarah's Sundae or something like that. And then Daddy Dave's banana split. Katie's was a little scoop of ice cream. I always felt kind of bad for her because of that. Daddy Dave's was huge and the Katie's was this little tiny scoop.
yes yes yes. and i think it was even an ice cream flavor i didn't much enjoy with a mediocre shortbread cookie. but i couldn't order something that wasn't mine. wouldn't be right. how funny. i love leatherby's.
